Unchartered Territory

It’s hard to imagine a place more magical and remote than Antarctica

Let us show you the wonders of the southernmost continent on earth – a largely unexplored land cloaked in ice that you have the opportunity to see now, before it’s too late!

Venture with us to the icy realm, where you’ll be awestruck by the immense vastness of wilderness to be uncovered, with the only humans around being you, your guides, and the occasional intrepid explorer!

Antarctica isn’t a place that will be seen by many people. In fact, it’s never had an indigenous population, and only a handful of brave adventurers have ever set foot on its snowy expanse…

If you’re looking for a truly unique and exclusive journey, this is it!

Exclusive Adventure

We are thrilled to be able to take you right into the heart of this magical white desert.

In the incomparable interior – Queen Maud Land – you’ll uncover a mountainous landscape and unimaginable ice formations that stretch further than the eye can see…

Here, we’ll host you in luxury camps that host only small groups at a time, so you’ll feel as if you have all the space and time in the world!

Whether it’s on your bucket list to meet the famous Emperor Penguins, set foot in the Geographic South Pole, explore an iridescent ice tunnel or conquer the High Polar Plateau, Antarctica is what your wildest travel dreams are made of…

From South Africa to the Interior of Antarctica

Our totally one-of-a-kind Antarctic journey starts at a five-star hotel in Cape Town, under the iconic backdrop of Table Mountain. Here, you will do a briefing and stay for one or two nights before being FLOWN DIRECTLY into the remote interior of Antarctica – an amazingly unique opportunity that skips all the usual arduous travel involved in getting there!

On the flight from Cape Town (in a luxurious Airbus A340 or private jet!), you will pass into the Antarctic Circle and into 24 hours of continuous sunshine.

Around the World in a Few Steps

During the seven-hour flight, we’ll land on the polar plateau to refuel, and you will have a chance to walk around this vast wilderness, getting a real taste for the sheer scale of Antarctica.

You’ll then continue to the South Pole, where you’ll find yourself at the lowest point on earth! A place with no more East, South or West – only North – and you will be able to walk around the world in just a few paces!

Wondrous Wildlife

Travelling to Antarctica offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to intimately encounter everyone’s favourite flightless birds – the giant Emperor Penguins

A two-hour flight in a Basler BT-67 from main camp, and you will be at a site of more than 14 000 Emperor Penguins and their adorable young chicks.

The fact that there is no human habitation here means that the penguins won’t be afraid of you, and you’ll be blown away by their confidence and curiosity as they come within a few metres of you…

Other amazing wildlife to see in the area include whales and seals, which you can observe in their remote natural splendour…

Other-worldly Accommodation

It may be hard for you to imagine, but your home-away-from-home in Antarctica will be kitted out in five-star luxury!

Importantly, the super unique lodges are also designed to have little impact on the pristine environment.

You can choose to stay at Whichaway, an oasis of luxury overlooking freshwater lakes; Echo, where the lunar landscape feels like being on another planet; or Wolf’s Fang, where you’ll enjoy laidback accommodation in sophisticated interiors that will make you feel like an explorer from a bygone era…

Adventure on Ice

The opportunities for adventure in Antarctica will take your breath away!

Imagine yourself abseiling down the summit of a 100-metre-high cliff, taking in the incredible views of shimmering blue ice all round, or climbing the blue-ice glacier to summit the Nunatak Mountain.

You could try a rope walk above a 200-foot cliff, or learn to ice climb with a former rock climbing champion.

After a day of unforgettable outdoor adventures, refuel with a peak-top picnic, sipping on a cocktail with 10 000-year-old ice!

FAQ Antarctica

The ideal time to visit Antarctica is during its summer, from November to March. Wildlife is most active, and days are longest, particularly from December to February when temperatures are consistently above freezing.

Atelier Africa and White Desert will arrange every step of the way for you.
