The rustic beauty of Africa meets world-class luxury at the Somalisa Camp.
Sheltered under an outcrop of magnificent trees in Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe lies the Somalisa camp. Hwange is Zimbabwe’s biggest natural park and boasts magnificent views and a wide range of game, including Africa’s Big Five. The camp offers a unique experience, accommodating guests in a number of large Sail Tents. However, these are no ordinary tents – each is exquisitely furnished and offers an en-suite bathroom, fireplace, floor fan and a spectacular view onto the Zimbabwe plains.
In addition to the tents (some of which can accommodate families), the camp has a central deck area. The deck is situated on the doorstep of a small watering hole, which is a firm favourite for birds, herds of elephants, buffalos and other game. Guests can enjoy a relaxing swim and a cocktail while watching the magnificent wildlife move through the park. Also located in this central area is a lounge and spectacular dining area, which offers a menu to suit every taste. A wide collection of international wines is available to enjoy with a delicious meal and a beautiful view.
Activities
Activities outside the camp include day or night game drives, and guided walks through the park. Guests can explore the diverse plant life of Zimbabwe, and experience up-close sightings of the vibrant birds and wildlife. The Hwange National Park is situated away from the urban hustle and bustle, and the lack of city lights and pollution make for stunning, clear skies and excellent opportunities for stargazing.
The Somalisa Camp allows guests to experience the phenomenal beauty of Zimbabwe, whilst enjoying all the comfort and luxury one could hope for and offers an intimate experience with the treasured African wildlife and landscape unlike any other.
