The oldest Desert in the World
Here is one lodge that must be part of your Luxury Namibia Safari itinerary. Namibia is probably most known for the oldest Desert in the World, the Namib Desert and a real highlight of this special part of the country is the Sossusvlei or more precisely the nearby located Dead Vlei.
With the lodge build right at the edge of the red dunes you really are at a prime location here. Little Kulala Desert Lodge is the only lodge in this region that really puts you right in the middle of the Namib Desert.
But the location is not the only thing that makes that makes this lodge absolutely outstanding. The architecture and decor is so unique, one will have to look hard to find accommodation of a such a high standard in Namibia.
Great Privacy
Each “Kulala” offers a very spacious bed- and bathroom with both inside and outside showers and a stunning view of the iconic dunes. Every room also has its own private pool and the rooftops are easily accessible for stargazing, candle-lit dinner or even to spend the night under the stars on a big pillow and thick duvet.
Wine & dine in the desert
Not only the surrounds, the decor and the architecture make this place so unique. To round it all of the place is managed by a very professional team offering a “nothing-is-to-much-to-ask” kind of service. A special dinner on top of the roof of your room or a brunch in the middle of the desert under a shady Camelthorn tree, nothing is impossible. The team at Wilderness Safaris’ Little Kulala is there for you 24/7 delivering great service and lovely meals of outstanding quality.
Wine & dine in the desert
Except for the great quality of this stunning lodge/camp there are a couple of other reasons why we would recommend Little Kulala. Firstly the private entrance to the park from the Kulala Reserve lets you enter the park earlier then anyone else, so you can enjoy the pure beauty of the Sossusvlei without the disturbance of other tourists. Very close to Little Kulala is also the take-off site for the Hot Air Ballooning and this is another very unique experience we suggest you should try to do when in Namibia. More about the Hot Air Ballooning in the Namib Desert you will find here on our blog.
