A Unique Immersion
This super unique camp has been built to mimic its stunning natural surrounds in the Busanga Plains of Zambia.
Chisa means ‘bird’s nest’ in the local language, and the rooms represent the intricate weaver bird nests that can be found in the trees all round.
The camp finds its home on a small, tree-lined island, with guests really being part of and respecting nature through the exclusive use of solar power and environmentally conscious design.
If you’re looking for a truly different and memorable way to immerse yourself in nature, Chisa Busanga Camp is for you!
Your Nest in the Trees
While the four Chisa Busanga nests blend beautifully into the surrounding wilderness, guests still enjoy a luxurious experience, with every modern comfort provided for.
Surrounded by majestic African trees, the nests offer sweeping views from their luxurious beds, private decks, and even from the indoor and outdoor showers! There’s also a nest with a lift, for ease of access.
A Window of Wildlife Opportunity
Accessible for just five months of the year (from June to November), you’ll have the unique opportunity to explore the exclusive wildlife oasis of Busanga Plains.
Set in Zambia’s oldest and largest national park, this protected and remote slice of paradise offers incredible game viewing, plenty of predator action, and an amazing array of birdlife.
The wetland system is home to a wide range of antelope, while big pods of hippo can be spotted in the channels. When the water levels lower, you’ll be able to spot wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo.
As far as the big predators go, there are large prides of lion, cheetah, and African wild dog. Smaller predators in the area include serval and side-striped jackal.
Exceptional Experiences
Blend into the quiet of the wild on an e-Cruiser game drive, or slow down to soak it all in on a walking safari. There are 450 bird species for eager twitchers to spot.
Look out for passing elephant or puku as you cool off in the camp pool. You can even let the team set up your dinner in some of the best spots in the bush, so you can combine al fresco dining with wildlife viewing!
Guests can also get involved in local initiatives to make their visit really count by helping to uplift the community.
A Wild Romance
We’d be remiss not to mention that the Busanga Plains are perhaps best known for being one of the most romantic places to visit in Africa.
Share the tranquility of the pristine wilderness, the cosyness of the nests, and the plethora of unique experiences with your loved one for a time of connection like no other.
