Pure safari next to Etosha National Park

Probably the best wildlife reserve in Namibia.

Ongava Reserve

Ongava Lodge is located on the 35,000 ha big Ongava Private Game Reserve. It shares a common border with the Etosha National Park and can be used as a base for trips into the Etosha National Park. However, you can also visit the lodge’s own private game reserve and be amazed during walking safaris and night drives.

At the lodge, you can go on day and night drives in open 4×4 vehicles in the Etosha National Park. You can also go on a night drive in the Ongava Reserve or observe the wildlife in one of the many hides along a walking safari.

The Reserve is the home of white and black rhinos and you will definitely see these rare animals on a Reserve’s guided tour. You can also observe the pride of lion, cheetahs, elephants and many more mammals at the Reserve or in the Etosha National Park.

Ongava Lodge

The Ongava Lodge is placed close to the top of a hill so visitors can enjoy the wonderful views across the environment below. The two popular waterholes in the plains are visited by a lot of wildlife, making it the perfect lodge to observe a great variety of wild animals.

The 12 beautifully built chalets have their own en-suite bathroom with a nice bath and shower, air conditioning and a tea and coffee station. Outside your chalet, you can sit on your verandah and dine outside underneath the stars. It’s the perfect location for that unique safari experience.

Little Ongava

If you want to stay at a more exclusive lodge than you can stay at Little Ongava. This lodge is built on the crest of a hill that provides a truly wonderful sight over the plains. Inside the Little Ongava main house, you can find the restaurant and the bar. It’s the perfect place to relax and have a stylish dinner underneath the Namibian sky while watching the nearby waterhole.

Next to the Little Ongava main house are three different spacious suites with their own en-suite bathroom. You can enjoy a superb plunge pool outside, take a relaxing outdoor shower or spend the evening in your own private ‘sala’.

When you stay at the Little Ongava have their own guide and 4×4 Land Rover Game Viewer so you can get the best nature experience at the wonderful Etosha National Park.

Anderson’s Camp & Tented

Besides the Ongava Lodge, next to it Little Ongava, which together has only 14 rooms, there are 2 more locations to stay overnight on the Ongava Reserve.

These two are completely different and smaller than the Ongava Lodge.
Andersons’s Camp is completely unique in terms of architectural style and very modern.

With only 9 very spacious rooms and stunning views of the reserve’s largest waterhole, this is a wonderful location to stay.

There is also a wonderful research center right next to the camp where you can mingle with the in-house scientists who conduct daily research on the behavior of the animals on Ongava Reserve and in the region of Etosha.

Our personal favorite on the reserve remains Ongava Tented Camp.
Probably because we really like to sleep in tented camps ourselves, so you are just a bit “closer” to nature.

At night you can hear everything that is happening in the bush around your room and in the morning you wake up to the sound of the birds outside.

This is actually possible in all other rooms where the sliding doors can be wide open, but a tent still has that little bit more of that safari feeling.
